zoe velie

(she, her, hers)

associate, equity & diversity

zoe is motivated by a core belief that the world would be a better place if our schools nurtured the brilliance of every child and to leverage the tools available to build a public education system that works for all. through collaboration with the many brilliant thinkers who dare to shift the paradigm, she believes it is feasible to pay teachers more; mainline culturally responsive curriculum; close the achievement gap; normalize inclusivity in the classroom; end the school-to-prison pipeline; strengthen arts and stem programs; and—above all—encourage the dreams of every student, regardless of background.

zoe has worn many hats including that of a reporter for a local npr station, a researcher for a public health organization, a waitress, and a student. all of her experiences have led her to understand that our education system is a major force in a community’s quality of life—economically, socially, and spiritually. she says she is privileged to work in an environment where she can align her skills with her values and support data-driven, culturally responsive research and evaluations.
