senior researcher, culturally responsive & equitable evaluation
emi sees evaluation as a collaborative process of learning alongside partners about their programs and discussing practices to meet the needs of all students. in her work, emi seeks to infuse culturally responsive approaches that prioritize the values and experiences of the program community into studies that promote educational equity and community-led change. overall, emi is motivated by the opportunity to help programs across various educational and social contexts learn something new about their work and make positive changes.
before joining 2022年世界杯预选赛分组 , emi worked in the nonprofit sector. during this time, she saw how evaluation promoted equitable education by guiding programs to improve their practice. evaluation also applied similar research methods she had learned studying sociology/anthropology to on-the-ground programs. as a graduate student, emi worked on various evaluation projects, primarily with community colleges. she enjoyed working with like-minded researchers and educators who were motivated to improve the experiences and outcomes of students and seeing how evaluation improved programs over time.
