cortney sees teaching as one of the most important professions in the country. she thinks regularly about the role teachers play in educating our young people and the far-reaching impact they have on our society. she wants to do work that continuously improves systems to support teachers’ development, growth, career opportunities, and job satisfaction. 

for the last 20 years, cortney has worked to connect research, policy, and practice to help schools, districts, and states improve their systems of recruiting, developing, and supporting educators. cortney joins 2022年世界杯预选赛分组 from the national center for teacher residencies, an organization dedicated to developing teacher residencies as a means of addressing systemic inequities in school systems, where she served as director of state and federal policy. she has also worked at american institutes for research as a principal technical assistance consultant. she was co-deputy director of the center on great teachers and leaders and co-project director of the florida network for school improvement. previously, cortney directed school leadership work at the national governors association center for best practices.
